Growing up in salons as a child, hair has always been a part of Crystals’s life and has enriched her.
Designing custom cuts, flowing long hair styles, barbering, beard shaping and vast colouring techniques such as multidimensional colours, traditional highlights to sun-kissed balayages are all components of what fuels Crystal’s passion.
Crystal is truly grateful to have opened Vermelho Hair in her home town of Canmore, Alberta in 2006. It has enabled Crystal to share her creativity, passion, education and hospitality with everyone who enters Vermelho’s doors.
If Crystal isn’t at Vermelho, you can find her outdoors living life in the Rockies. As a 4th generation Canmore local, she loves spending active time in the great outdoors with her family and friends.

Creating beautiful organic looks that fit your personality and features brings Shawna joy. Whether that be long flowing hair with naturally-placed balayage or a precision cut with beautiful multi-dimensional colour, Shawna prioritizes protecting the integrity of your hair.
Shawna had the amazing opportunity of working with Hedkandi Salon for the majority of her years behind the chair. Her pursuit for education has taken her to Los Angeles, where she trained at Vidal Sassoon. Shawna has also traveled to Montreal for Redken’s Fusion Event and she has taken a multitude of cutting, colouring and styling courses with Redken, Bumble + Bumble and Summit Salons.
Shawna moved back to Canmore to raise her family in the same great community she grew up in. When she’s not in the salon, you can find her at a park or a coffee shop with her son, exploring the mountains with friends and family, working on our home or enjoying our cabin in Sylvan Lake. Shawna is so excited to have the opportunity to follow her passion and help give the beautiful people of her home town beautiful hair. She looks forward to seeing you in her chair at Vermelho!

Her favourite aspect of hair is to complete a whole look from beginning to end. She loves chatting with clients to find out what will work best with their hair and lifestyle. Megan was born and raised in Canmore and has been in the hair industry for the past 9 years.
Hair is something Megan has had a passion for since she was a young girl. Making people look and feel amazing drives her to further her education in the industry and keep current on new styles and techniques. Megan enjoys all aspects of colour, from a seamless sun-kissed balayage to high-potency pops of fashion colours.
When Megan is not found in the salon, she is likely spending time with her son, family and friends in the Bow Valley. She enjoys skiing, camping and overall healthy living. Megan considers Canmore her home and is over-joyed to be back in the mountains.
